While walking with a friend past a crafts store in the East Village today, she suddenly blurted out, "I need to invest in more earthen crafts this year."
EARTHEN CRAFTS. First, I dare you to use it in a sentence without cracking up. Now the definition: decorative, useable, or keepsake pottery, children's art projects, chotchkes, and god knows what other hippie projects. It was the funniest thing I'd heard all week. Perhaps from now on I'll call plastic bottles "non-biodegradable chalices."
